What You Need

  • Tim Tams - you can use classic chocolate Tim Tams or any flavour you like! If you're not in Australia, try substituting with Penguins which are similar (available in the UK).
  • Self-Raising Flour - also known as self rising flour.
  • Coconut - you can use either shredded or desiccated coconut in this recipe.
  • Brown Sugar - you can use regular light or dark brown sugar.
  • Cocoa Powder - use unsweetened cocoa powder.
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk - for best results when baking, choose full fat (not skim) sweetened condensed milk.

Step By Step Instructions

Step 1 - Crush The Tim Tams

Place the Tim Tams into the Thermomix bowl and crush (you can crush them as finely or chunky as you like!).

Personally, I find 2 seconds is a good amount of time.

Step 2 - Mix

Add the self raising flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder, coconut and sweetened condensed milk and mix together on REVERSE.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl and mix again using the REVERSE function.

Step 3 - Bake

Spoon the mixture into a prepared baking tin. Smooth the mixture out with the back of a spoon.

Bake for 20 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean (or with a few crumbs on it).

Allow to cool before cutting into pieces.

  • If you're in the UK, you can substitute the Tim Tams for Penguin biscuits instead.

Thermomix Tim Tam Slice

Our Thermomix Tim Tam Slice is chewy, chocolatey and so tasty!

Equipment

  • Thermomix
  • 20cm square baking tin.
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 150 g self raising flour
  • 90 g brown sugar
  • 15 g cocoa powder
  • 45 g coconut shredded or desiccated
  • 395 g sweetened condensed milk
  • 200 g Tim Tams

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 160 degrees celsius (fan-forced) and line a 20cm square cake tin with baking paper.
  • Break the Tim Tams in half and chop for 2 seconds, Speed 4. If you want smaller chunks, mix for a further 3 seconds.
  • Add the self raising flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder, coconut and sweetened condensed milk and mix for 10 seconds, REVERSE, Speed 4.
    Scrape down the sides of the bowl and mix for a further 10 seconds, REVERSE, Speed 4.
    If your mixture hasn't quite combined, mix for a further 5 - 10 seconds.
  • Pour the mixture into your prepared tin (don't worry, it will be VERY sticky!) and smooth the surface with a spoon.
  • Place the slice into the oven and cook for 20 minutes. Allow the slice to cool completely before cutting into small pieces.
