Why You're Going To Love This Recipe

  • Quick & Easy - from start to finish, this recipe takes just 5 minutes to prepare (perfect for busy mornings!)
  • Versatile - choose your favourite frozen berries and add any of your favourite toppings (see below for topping ideas!)
  • Smoothie vs Sorbet Texture - if you like a smoothie texture with your acai bowls, follow our recipe as it is. If you'd prefer a more sorbet-like texture, reduce the amount of coconut water used.
  • Make Ahead Of Time - you can prepare the Thermomix acai bowl ahead of time and freeze the mixture in an airtight container until needed. Allow it to soften at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.

What You Need

Our Thermomix Acai Bowls are made using just 5 ingredients!

Please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for ingredient quantities and the full detailed method.

The ingredients for an acai bowl.
  • Acai Powder - you can buy acai powder from the health food section of any major supermarket or from any health food store. I use Nature's Way brand available at Coles.
  • Frozen Berries - use whatever frozen berries you have on hand (or a combination!). Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are all great options! It's important to use frozen berries (not fresh).
  • Coconut Water - or substitute with almond milk. Use less coconut water if you'd like your acai bowl to have a more sorbet-like texture.
  • Honey
  • Frozen Bananas - it's important to use frozen bananas (not fresh).

FAQs

Where can I buy acai powder?

You can buy acai powder from the health food section of any major supermarket or from any health food store. I use Nature's Way brand available at Coles.

Can I make different flavour acai bowls?

Absolutely! You can easily vary the types of frozen berries you use to make different flavours.

In your photos, the acai bowl mixture looks like it's frozen. Is this how it should be?

When you follow the recipe below, your acai bowl will have the texture of a smoothie. I followed the recipe exactly, but I froze my acai bowl for an hour or so before I took the photos (hence why it looks frozen!). I would allow this to sit at room temp for a few more minutes before serving.
